“As an ultrarunner, I come back to this podcast from time to time to give it another chance. And each time, I remember why I abandoned it.
Most recently, the interview with Karl Meltzer pulled me in. Who doesn't want to hear about Speedgoat's amazing feat on the AT?
Instead, it was an hour of Ian interviewing Ian on how Ian felt while watching Karl's progress from Ian's computer. He interrupted Karl countless times, and wouldn't let him finish most of his thoughts. He told Karl how Karl felt, rather than asking him. It was embarrassing to listen to, honestly.
All the other content I've listened to is equally narcissistic. It's a shame, because Ian clearly is passionate about something having to do with ultrarunning, and somehow gets impressive access to elite runners, but it all comes across very poorly and is generally unlistenable.”Read full review »
