Disappointment
I'm new to ted and can't compare new and old format, but after listening to "violence" and "beauty" ted hrs I felt like I've just sat through 2 hours of some Hollywood news show with sporadic British accents and ivy league references ?aimed to reassure listeners the content of speeches is valid, interesting and sheds light onto the claimed subject??? More reviews of TED Radio Hour
Older episodes were great, but the new approach - apparently to copy Radiolab - has basically rendered this podcast unlistenable. The whole point of TED is to give a stage to people with something important to say, not to show off how clever your producers are. Please. Stop.

I am a longtime fan of both NPR and TED, so the pairing has a priori support. The first episode takes on some cognitive psychology, so a good topic for radio and nothing too controversial. It is nice to hear the TED speakers have a chance to do some follow through in an interview format....Read full review »
