Description
Show Summary You can spend all the time in the world marketing but you can spend a lot of time wasting your efforts. Time is very precious so the biggest thing we can share with you is how to be focused on who you are and who your audience really is. I think a lot of entrepreneurs have a problem with that because they think what if I miss an opportunity or miss someone who might have an interest? Today we’re going to talk about how to focus in on who you are and who your audience is. Laser focused If I said to you let’s do an email blast of some of the things you’re offering, I have a list of five million names. I’ve had clients get excited about having five million names. In reality if I offered you 5,000 targeted names which would you prefer? If you can get a smaller number but they are targeted and they are your ideal client you can actually spend more time with them and be more effective and converted. Passion The biggest thing is you have to have passion for what you do. Think about what you do and what part of it you enjoy the most. What is it you actually want to focus in on? You didn’t start your business just to make money. You started your business because you wanted to solve a problem and have fun. Whatever the products or services you’re offering focus in on what you’re most passionate about. Decide who you are and how you want to be perceived. Do you want to be perceived as someone who is funny, someone who is more serious or someone who is sciency? Focus in on that. You have an image you want to portray. Don’t paint a fake image, you want to be the real you but figure out what that is and then make sure you stick with it. Own who you are, own what you’re passionate about and accept the fact that you’re the expert in what you do. That’s hard because a lot of people think it’s about ego but your customer is buying from you because they trust you. They want to know you’re an expert and are passionate about what you do. It has nothing to do with ego. They want to work with friends and connect with you at a different level. So it’s critical you start building this image of yourself. Audience Let’s go further now and talk about your audience. The biggest thing I can say to you is your audience is you years ago. Think about when you first got into your industry. In the beginning before you started your business you knew nothing. You were so nervous and you had a hundred questions. That’s your audience. So think of who they are and figure out how you can give them advice and how you can inspire them. The biggest thing is to start looking at who that audience is.
