All stories need to be heard
Thank you for this. I've learned a lot listening to it. I think the most important message I learned is that our country and our culture has allowed the "pro-life" movement take over monopolies on morality and it's just simply is not true and we cannot let them do that. These stories show that we need more options for women when it comes to health care, birth control and dignity and autonomy over their bodies. It has also helped me appreciate the rights we do have and that we need to defend them at all cost. This affects us globally too: Millions of women all over the world are forced to have 10-12 babies starting at age 12. This is a global issue of biblical proportions that most everyone is ignoring. We MUST demand better treatment of women in the health care sector all across the board. In the words of Sister Joan: "I do not believe that just because you're opposed to abortion, that that makes you pro-life. In fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed. And why would I think that you don't? Because you don't want any tax money to go there. That's not pro-life. That's pro-birth. We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is."Read full review »

More reviews of The Abortion Diary
This is such a simple idea for a podcast, just letting the people tell their own stories means all together they give an amazing education. Everyone should listen to this if they have an opinion on abortion. Really well edited and every story is so interesting to listen to.

Here's why I am hooked: (1) No political agenda. The past year has seen a burst of on-line...Read full review »
