Why Do We Lack Self-Compassion?
Listen now
Description
We as human beings have a real hard time being kind and compassionate to ourselves. When it is a friend or loved one suffering, often times we fall into a natural state of compassion and do what ever we can to ease their suffering. But when it's us, when we are the ones suffering, our minds tend to negativity and inward bullying.    Why is this the case and how can we do something about it?   Well, in todays episode, I attempt to provide some insight into the world of self-compassion and share with you my notes on how to become more compassionate to yourself.   I want to remind you that I'm just a dude with a microphone who enjoys thinking about these topics. I am not an expert in anything other than overthinking. So please, take that in consideration when you hear my advice!   Sources: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/think-act-be/201802/what-makes-us-think-such-negative-things-about-ourselves https://jackkornfield.com/self-compassion/ Book: "The Tibetan Book of Living And Dying" by Sogyal Rinpoche Youtube: Anything by Rupert Spira or Adayashanti    Music by: Blue Dot Session- Slow Rollout    Thank you!
