“This is the ONLY True Crime show I enjoy in any form. Simon and his writers expound and then unpack these horrific crimes and criminal lives in a way that is always respectful to the victims and disdainful to the victims. The lack of cold objectivity like some true crime programs is refreshing. There are horrible people, and it’s scary, and I know it bothers Simon and the writers just as much as it does us, the listeners, but we listen to learn about the dark sides of human living. Simon is very much not religious, but I very much am. That’s okay. It is very clear how seeing the worst in life will make you cling to a truer and brighter sense of morality, no matter your religious bent. Either way, this show is entertaining from Simons personality, informative from the format and the various writers ridiculously excellent researching and narrative skills, and endearing in the way it makes me enjoy my relatively benign life more, and causes me to hug my wife and children even more.
Absolute legends.
I almost forgot: it wouldn’t be nearly as professional or top class in quality if it was not for Jen, the wonderful producer and editor. Love your musical arrangements.”
