How does he have time for all the content he makes!? I wish I could grind as hard as this man does, without dropping quality. Everything he does is too notch.

Always a good episode from your boy with the blaze

Love the format of this. The script writing and commentary are both fantastic. You get some banter without big sidetracks. It’s actually great fun, again that feels weird to say about a murder podcast).

Simon and the team always provide a really enjoyable show that leaves you with plenty to think about.

Fantastic and interesting cases presented in a more laid back talk show style. Great podcast (even the shorts) keep them coming factboi (OGBB)

Only writing a review because Simon brainwashed me into it. If you find my body, don’t trust what he’ll say about my death in his informative, funny and well-made podcast!

Simon and his cohort present the cases in a very entertaining way as well as being comprehensive with what they speak about. My only complaint is that I wish there was an unedited version available in addition to the censored ones.

…but do write down how brilliant the combination of Callum’s research and Simon’s wit are in this bizarrely satisfying exploration into true crime! This podcast has bought hours of joy to my life, and is a must listen to ALL true crime fans (or at least those of us with a decent dark sense of...Read full review »

I study criminology and sociology (applying to grad school!) and I really enjoy this show! It’s a nice break from the academia I usually find myself in, but is still very respectful and informative.

As a history buff and a true crime fan this is equally funny and fascinating and generally a great time of laughter, facepalms and horrifying crimes. It’s brought together by a well written script, a great host and music that fits the aesthetic perfectly.

I love Simon from his other channels and this is no different. Always makes every topic important and interesting.

I’m pretty used to watching Simon on YouTube (and am watching this on YouTube but it’s the same content)- I need something I can listen to while I knit and crochet this is perfect for that! Love Simon so much thanks for this awesome podcast. If you like true crime you’ll like this.

Simon is a perfect host for this podcast. It’s so much fun and entertaining to experience the story as it unfolds with Simon. Great sound design and mixing as well. A great podcast to binge!

... but it's such a shame that it's read by someone who sounds like a local radio presenter on double speed. If you like listening to a speed reader, then knock yourself out.Read full review »

Considering the number of true crime and disaster podcasts I listen to during the night shift, my coworkers tend to shake their heads and avoid my work station. The casual criminalist is one of the few where they will stop and listen with me. The combination of terrible crimes and Simon’s...Read full review »

I was so happy when I found out Simon started a true crime podcast. This does not disappoint. To read a script the first time as you record is a good concept. It would fail if it wasn't done so well. It is a reasonable mix of crimes as well. Total respect to Callum for the scripts. He knows...Read full review »

Aaah, such love put into the craft of Simon and his team. Business Blaze is just the best, but these are great little PodCasts to listen to if I can’t sleep.

Great team behind each episode, very easy to listen to style of podcast with light hearted humour and beyond dark cases, fantastic fact checking and angle covering, making sure we see both sides of a case, easy 5 starts from me

Simon’s reactions to the crazy things the serial killers do is so funny!! “You psycho” in such a monotone voice 😂

Casual criminalist is an awesome podcast. More free form than many of his other channels. Somewhere between TopTenz and Business Blaze for format. It has some dark topics but since Simon generally has no idea what’s coming, it makes it exciting. He adds his commentary as he goes and you’re...Read full review »

What’s not to love. Scripts and information is excellent, and it’s a classic Simon delivery. 5/5 every episode

I have enjoyed Simon’s YouTube content for years and am a true BBOG, also a true crime fanatic so this podcast is a perfect fit. He reads through a script without spoilers and reacts as the tale unfolds. Some may not enjoy the commentary but his humor and personality are part of the charm. I...Read full review »

As if you couldn’t get enough of Simon on YouTube now you can listen to him while driving or anything else when you shouldn’t be watching the screen. I enjoy the Business Blaze style of narration. Although it is a bit toned down compared to Business Blaze given the content. Keep it up Simon.

This is one Simon show where I actually prefer listening to the podcast than watching the YT channel. Callum needs some love too btw folks - his writing & the (obviously) ridiculous amount of research he puts into each episode is phenomenal. Love it

I love Simon Whistler’s YouTube videos so much. When I heard he had a true crime podcast I was so excited! Writer Kalem (sp?) puts together a clever and informative script which Narrator Simon reads through for the first time live adding his disarming quips and queries. Can there be such a thing as a light-hearted true crime podcast about horrible murders? Yes and this is it. Probably not for everyone, but highly entertaining, and explores a lot of topics off the usual beaten paths. A must listen.

I love true crime and anything Simon creates, and this podcast is the glorious point at which those two things intersect. Interesting and often gruesome, with a delightful sprinkling of Simon’s thoughts and opinions on the material. Business Blaze Format + True Crime = *Chef’s Kiss*

Fascinating criminal stories told by the outstanding Simon Whistler, who just has the right voice for these sorts of tales.
