NYT The Choice: Indoctrination for the "educated"
Thanks (almost solely) to Bernie Sanders, the stakes have indeed become so high in this presidential election that The New York Times now needs to greatly increase its flood of corporate propaganda on behalf of its corporate sponsors—who provide for its very existence as a multinational corporation running a news press (which naturally means the NYT defines itself, and thus advertises itself, as "independent journalism" providing us all with "our free press". That is, in the U.S., private multinational corporate presses = "our free press.") And the effectiveness of The New York Times corporate propaganda is shown by how deeply indoctrinated its readers/listeners are, "as is the norm for the educated classes, who are typically the most profoundly indoctrinated and in a deep sense the most ignorant group, the victims as well as the purveyors of the doctrines of the faith." (Noam Chomsky) And bearing in mind that the so-called educated classes are necessarily installed in the Opinion/Editorial boardroom of The New York Times, we should expect that the "expert" views here in "The Choice" display this same deep level of ignorance. Indeed, only the most deeply indoctrinated group of "experts" could ever state as a matter of fact that the Opinion/Editorial boardroom of The New York Times is completely separate from The New York Times news reporting/reporters. And only the most deeply indoctrinated people could ever believe this statement to be true. This 'unveiling' of how The New York Times goes about making its presidential endorsement is in fact merely a further duping of the educated class: The New York Times has hereby fully opened its propaganda flood gates, and these pro-corporate floodwaters are only going to dramatically increase as the presidential election draws ever nearer. So it's now the full power of corporate propaganda (via The New York Times and all our mainstream media channels) working over the minds of the public, courtesy of "our free press."Read full review »

More reviews of The Choice
From an undecided Democrat: the Tom Steyer “interview” was one of the most unfair I’ve ever heard. The panel already had a cemented opinion on him when he entered the room and didn’t take his answers seriously.

I started listening to this just to check it out but it’s actually extremely informative. You don’t get to hear the candidates this way on the debate stage or at rallies. The questions are good, and direct, and uncompromising. The result of that is that you get to know the candidates more as...Read full review »

The concept of the podcast is good, but the editorial board is underwhelming. The interview with Mayor Pete, by some board members was almost hostile- he was in his mid 20s during his McKinsey career and a number cruncher. Yet he was blamed for layoffs and an isolated price fixing incident of...Read full review »
