Against Burnout
Recent studies have repeatedly found that at least half of all doctors in America experience burnout, finding their work meaningless. This is a shocking statistic. I, like the hosts of this show, believe that helping people find hope and solace in life's darkest moments can be profoundly purposeful work. The stories on this podcast reveal the diverse ways that helping patients can manifest, and guests often share strategies for how to stay focused on the most meaningful parts of a career in medicine. If more doctors heard these stories and adopted the mindset and practices discussed on this show, a large portion of them would discover a salve for burnout.Read full review »

Really enjoyed episode 1, in which the hosts tell their own stories. Tyler is an articulate speaker and clearly a deep thinker. Henry, who is apparently a medical student (?!), has an incredibly mature perspective on medicine. Both do a wonderful job interviewing their guests.

I don’t work in medicine but this is still a super relevant podcast for me. I love love these stories and people so much. I wish I had doctors like them.

Absolutely fantastic podcast that profiles some of the best thinkers in medicine working today. The range of clinicians is a huge plus, from established leaders of healthcare to young doctors. A big thanks to the hosts for searching far and wide for the most interesting voices in healthcare.
