A fun take on a book club
Listened to their Great Gatsby episode and it was great! One of the most refreshing aspects of this podcast is just how much they are willing to NOT simply comply with the general consensus of a book and criticize as they please - nothing is sacred and they bring up valid points. Even though I am a lukewarm fan of the book, their points are valid. I found myself laughing along with their banter all the way through, constantly joking about the context of the book and what goes on in it. Don't let their casual nature fool you - they do critically analyze the book, no matter how casual it may be. They are just having fun while doing it. It seems so organic to have people discussing literature seriously without taking out the enjoyment of it. Even to the most casual of readers, they make reading seem fun.Read full review »

This podcast is highly problematic in these white guys’ humor, extremely homoerotic with multiple happy go lucky references to gay stuff (yay!) PER episode from one particular host, and at least one host in every episode is so pretentious they ‘hated and deplored’ the book so much they didn’t...Read full review »
