Has changed my running
I’ve really gotten into low heart rate, aka zone 2, aka MAF running as a result of this podcast. It’s pushed me to do a lot of reading and do a lot more of my running at lower intensity. I especially appreciate some of the older athlete interviews. I’m 56, run mostly at 6000 to 8000 feet in elevation, often with hills. Going to a MAF pace of 124 bpm takes practice and a lot of ego swallowing, so it’s nice to hear from others who are doing this as older athletes or people who live at altitude. And Floris is a really good interviewer. He digs in to get actionable takeaways from all his guests and I have ended up following up on several of his guests on their websites and getting more tips.

In a world where there are far too many running podcasts this is one of the few standout high quality ones. Thoughtful and carefully put together Extramilest is one of just 2 - 3 running podcasts that I listen to every episode of.
