After all these years you still don’t call it a fraud
Bush and Blair were desperate for intelligence sources from Iraq literally translates to Bush and Blair were desperate for war. As another reviewer noted, this is mostly a veteran journalist name dropping from time to time with ads in between. Doesn’t mention that the war was forced on to the world with shoddy intelligence at best or outright manufactured at worst. It still talks as if Bush and Blair were working in good faith. Moreover, the worst part is that journalists like David to this day treat it more like a political disaster than a massive tragedy resulting in the death of millions and loss of livelihood for many more. There’s a NYT piece describing what happens when a missile drops near you. Look around you and imagine that happening to a million people in your city. That is what this war has created. David is correct that a lot of people lost faith in the media due to the Iraq war. I agree with that. But no reconciliation or justice will come out of this podcast. This is not an interview. David feeds you what he thinks you should have known. He lets the CIA agent tell you they believe in ‘the truth shall set you free’ and you’re supposed to just accept it. F that. This podcast is worth your hatred. I’m listening to it only to be sure I’m being fair. I don’t want to be fair to this smug piece of who gave us this war and my generation of people and those to come have to live with its impact. F him.

Absolutely gripping! As one podcast ends I cannot wait for the next. Dimbleby at his best with fascinating contributions from individuals who had first involvement in the Bush-Blair bromance and its consequences. Fabulous!
