Going on to enjoy a long and varied career, including stints both as senator for Queensland and Australia's ambassador to the Netherlands. Also a successful author, his wonderful book 'Saving Lieutenant Kennedy' tells the incredible story of how an Australian hero helped save the life of a young JFK.
