I’ve just listened to my first episode of Nigel’s Five of My Life and my mind has gently expanded to view new perspectives. He respectfully ‘dances’ in conversation with his guest and welcomes and makes space for their answers without judgement. Such a wonderful set of questions that are engaging...Read full review »

I found this programme and love it. I live in Canada and had no idea of who the people were but I really enjoyed the format and the interviewer. I have listened to three but don't seem to be able to find more. I do hope I shall be able to download some more programmes in the near future.Read full review »

Nigel Marsh is an great interviewer; intelligent and insightful and allows each guest the space to explore, respond and engage. More please especially of Wil Anderson!

I love the intimacy Nigel builds with his guests, this creates a pleasant and insightful change from other interviews guests may have done

Really enjoying most of the guests, Nigel is just a fantastic podcaster. Just not enjoying some of the guests political views and bagging. Especially the latest one ! I don’t really want to hear people’s political views. Their stories are amazing though. Dr Charlie Teo I could listen to him all...Read full review »

Just letting everyone know that the Spotify playlist formed from the fave pieces of music is fabulous! Got me from Hyde Park to Bondi Beach in City to Surf in 2 hours 🥴 And the conversations got me from Sydney to Melbourne in the car. What more could you need, with really interesting guests to...Read full review »

I am a latecomer to the podcast but I am thoroughly enjoying catching up! Nigel’s style is one which extracts so much out of his interviewees and each episode can have you laughing one moment and in tears the next

Nigel has tight interview format which a friend (and guest) Remo steered me to. I loved Tony Wilson sharing heartfelt family and friends stories, and Dare Jennings talking Apocalypse Now, Sarah Wilson’s statue in Belgium. Peter FitzSimons singing Hurricane. ~ Scott

I’ve listened to a number of ‘Five of my life’ podcasts so far. Each of them has been very interesting in their own way given the diverse range of people Nigel has spoken to. This format, as he correctly says, gives a great insight into the lives of prominent people and it’s refreshingly...Read full review »

I've only recently discovered this podcast thanks to another podcast (Behind the Podcast) and working my way back through episodes. This one inspired me to rate/review. Hugh Mackay generated some great conversation and was thought provoking but he mentioned his wife and she sounds like the...Read full review »

Loving this podcast! A very interesting way to see new sides of popular personalities. It’s also great for finding iconic movies/books you’ve never heard of but need to explore. Is there a list somewhere of all the favourite books and movies? I need this!!!

I absolutely love the podcast. The conversation that arrives from the premise is always unexpected. Please start a Spotify playlist from the songs chosen.

Thank you, Nigel, for Russel Howcroft. I much enjoy your interviewing style, your delight and respect for your people, and Russel is a favourite from The Gruen Transfer and his other enterprises. Cheers

I’ve listened to a number of episodes of this podcast all of which have been interesting and entertaining. Today the Rob Carlton edition came up in my playlist. I must confess I couldn’t picture who he was, but sometimes it’s great to hear someone talk and not have any preconceptions. Well, this...Read full review »

Such a wonderful podcast. Nigel is deft at bringing out his guests very interesting personal stories, with great respect, empathy and humility. I love the quality of the recording. It feels intimate, like I am in the same space. Would love to hear an interview with Dr Joanne Chory, who is leading...Read full review »

There are so many boring copy and paste interview podcasts out there. Really refreshing to hear something a bit different. Great host, interesting guests and always a bit of fun!

Sadako and the thousand paper cranes. The first time my teacher cried. She was so fierce. I was 9 and I’m now 40 and I remember that day vividly

Nigel finds a way to uncover some amazing things about his guests. It’s interesting to see where each goes and how different they are when starting with the same base. Great easy listening.

I love the format of this podcast, but the real magic happens when Nigel Marsh leads his guest through their ‘five’. It’s 5.30am and in my hospital bed I scroll through the list of episodes. Osher Ginsberg! Earbuds in. What a start to the day. Warm, funny, deeply insightful; I’m writing notes...Read full review »

Real conversations, refreshingly open & honest. Nigel Marsh has a real gift for drawing out layers of interesting detail, insightful, sometimes confronting and always witty. Listen to the first podcast with Todd Sampson, you’ll be hooked... that guy’s a legend! Thank you Mr Marsh!

What a great concept, and a brilliant way to have an insightful conversation. I felt very fired up and inspired after listening to these episodes.
