“Honestly, what's the point?
I couldn't even fathom leaving a 1 star review 3 months ago, yet here we are.
At the start of the new format, we were told to blindly 'stick with it' and that they were trying something temporary throughout the pandemic. We did. It was fine, not great. But we respected the Ramble's decision and got on with it, looking towards the light at the end of the tunnel which would be the new season and the original 4 returning in all of their glory.
But no. The dreaded announcement came out that the new format was here to stay. And instead of addressing any of the worries that long-time fans had, instead they decided to mock us all with a sanctimonious, immature and petty intro to the very next episode. Great way to stick two fingers up at the loyal fanbase who have attended live shows, ramble drinks, bought your book, paid for patron subscriptions, Christmas specials etc, the list goes on and on.
I can see there has been a flurry of negative reviews recently, and even the positive ones are pleading for at least 1 show a week from the original 4. Yet stone deaf silence. You only have to look on twitter each day to see people asking when/if the original 4 are ever going to appear together again. Yet no response, every time. The ego! Something the Ramble always used to pride itself on not having. How things change.
Now instead of even addressing it, or God forbid being flexible and giving the USP that made them popular in the first place an airing once a week, good ship Ramble is now sinking due to pure stubbornness.
