Have to compliment the team for the amazing job they have done during lockdown in keeping such a high level of sports analysis. They have excellent guests and in depth interviews and always get a good balance between the sports and impact on the wider society. Always a must listen to and my first...Read full review »

A 1 hour 48 min podcast may seem daunting but Weds evenings pod with Kenny Cunningham and Damien Delaney reviewing the Liverpool-Atletico CL match was incredible. Could’ve listened to another 3 hours if they kept talking. Keep the quality punditry coming boys. Adam (New York, NY)

Really good sports show except for the John Giles piece on a Thursday. Also & I hope it’s just a short term issue but podcasts have started being played at 1.5 times normal speed

Joe, Nathan, Eoin, Dan MacDonald & Kenny Cunningham are outstanding, well balanced and considered analysts, and thinkers of the why’s behind what happens in the beautiful game. Kilbane, on the other hand, is a blowhard. He has invariably* failed to provide any insight or thought-provoking...Read full review »

I used to listen to this podcast every day when it downloaded automatically onto my iPod. Recently the off the ball podcast shows went through a revamp, new cover page, etc. This seems to have coincided with them not downloading new episodes... not sure what the reason is. All non-off the ball...Read full review »

Guys, Really like the show, killer and kenny are good craic. Nevin, Hunter and the BBC guy in Brazil are excellent value too. However I am really getting feed up of the Liverpool Bias, they have won nothing in years and there are other teams in the English Premiership. I live abroad and...Read full review »

Love the podcast but 50% of the time I find it incredibly hard to hear guests in particular and the hosts. Bump the volume up and would be a 5 star pod

What happened lads? There I was out for a walk listening to my three favourites - Joe, Kev and Pat - discussing all sorts of interesting facets of the Premier League when it all went a bit doolally. First we get the theme music playing over Joe explaining what happened in the penalty shoot out to...Read full review »

Great show but why does Kenny Cunningham have to be put on and then try to be spun as a great pundit. Its like Mourinho talking up fellaini, do it all you want... its doesnt take away from the fact he is awful. Kenny isnt funny, kenny isnt insightful. He is a pretentious tw^t who talks complete...Read full review »

I've listened to the show since it's inception around 2004 and I have found the increase in Ger Gilroy's use of bad language commensurate to the drop in standards. Bad language and name calling is lazy. Kevin offers very little. Joe is the only redeeming feature on Off the Ball....Read full review »

Grand but not great by any stretch of the imagination, essentially a second rate, dumbed down version of Second Captains. Kilbane has been a decent addition but the constant fan boy questions from Joe and Ger about his time in the Ireland camp are getting quite old. The kissing at the feet and...Read full review »

This sums up everything I hate in a podcast. Aside from the terrible editing (Mentioning at the start that things are coming up on the show - but they're cut out of the podcast. Also having other shows, like music shows appearing for 10-20 minutes in the middle of the football one), the main...Read full review »

Best way to catch up on the football. Living over in the USA so hearing the lads chatting away reminds me of back home. Intelligent insight, witty jokes, and great analysis. Could do with a few more regular updates.

… I used to listen to this show under the old regime, but have avoided it for a couple of years. I tried it now for a week, and it's more or less what I'd expected. Presenters flip-flopping between one opinion and another depending on the guest they are interviewing; "stories"...Read full review »

Oft THE BEST OF THE WEEK, this little pod. Hosts and A++ list of guest analysts and raconteurs- no wastes of spaces. When the Second Captains boys left, they took with them the defining features of the show which made it so special. The only thing the current iteration has going for it is the subject matter. In its present form it lacks humour and the efforts to instil some comedic relief often rely on trite...Read full review »
