No Danny, No Fun, No Thanks
Oh dear. Enjoyed every minute of last year's podcasts, but this certainly sucked the life out of me. Look out for a mention of "implied anti-trust law exemptions" after 23 and a half minutes. I'm not joking. Plus, that Martin Samuel is an incredibly humourless cove, isn't he? Given no mention of what the great Danny Kelly is up to, I presume he is going to re-unite the Fabio/Grooverider partnership over on Danny Baker's podcasts. If so, I'll look forward to this immensely, even if you have to put a few quid their way. At least The Guardian understands that you need to keep things a bit light (e.g. Senegalese wrestling bodyguards this week). Two stars awarded for the only interesting bit - the minute spent on the players to look out for this season.Read full review »

An excellent podcast. Light but informed. Good length too- 45 minutes or so a week is perfect.

This used to be a great podcast but I am sick and tired of Marcotti's know it all commentary. He never listens to another point of view and sneers at anyone who is brave enough to contradict him. If he knows that much about football why isn't he a succesful manager?Read full review »
