Embarrassment not required
The long standing bit behind TGG is that the hosts and audience are a little bit embarrassed to be hosting and listening to a, as it were, “pee pee poo poo-based Star Trek podcast.” After seven years of listening to TGG and its sister show, The Greatest Trek, I can promise: there is no need to be embarrassed. If you like Star Trek, want to laugh, have even the faintest interest in how TV/film gets made, and/or just enjoy two dudes having a good time doing their thing, you will like—even love—TGG.
