Trustworthy, stylish scientific journalism
Smart, level-headed, wry, well-paced, charmingly British scientific journalism from people who sound like they really know what they're talking about. Check out the back catalogue for a good set of podcasts on evolution vs intelligent design / creationism. That's what got me on board, while reading Dawkin's "The God Delusion". I can't understand other reviewers' very negative remarks. This is the best (lay-person's) science podcast I have found. For example, I remember listening to James Randerson interviewing James Watson (June 25 2007), founder of molecular biology and co-discoverer of the DNA double helix, and being more impressed by Randerson, because the science story his questions gave structure to was thought-provoking and far-reaching. In effect, Randerson had provided a whole articulated thesis for Watson to flesh out. As it turned out, Watson was only partially able to do that, but it didn't matter, because Randerson's thesis was in itself so compelling.Read full review »
