Read Dr. Candida Moss instead
a highly uncritical history of the early Christian church, largely based on Eusebius. if you are going to listen to this version of history, I highly recommend you also consult Dr. Candida Moss' "The Myth of Persecution." Dr. Moss is a Christian and former professor at Notre Dame who documents the distortions present in early church accounts. the host was fairly up front about his biases going in but it was still disappointing to hear such a doctrinaire history.Read full review »

I really enjoy hearing about the history but not your “theology”. Even after admitting the theory of the “trinity” didn’t come along until after the apostles death or exile, the narrator clearly guided the listener to believe the “theology of the trinity” Clearly influenced by Greek “believers”...Read full review »

I actually really like the content of this podcast, but after five episodes, I can’t take it anymore. Every time he starts a sentence, he smacks his lips and the sound just really grosses me out.
