What you 'll learn by listening: What inspired Lemma to become a registered dietitianHow her relationship with food has evolved since diagnosis to nowLemma's pregnancy experiences, and the differences between her first and second pregnancyThe pitfalls of restriction and the value of understanding one's body, and how foods and insulin work within your bodyWhy she is so passionate about helping women who are pregnant or planning to get pregnant with type 1 diabetesThe  importance of community in your diabetes journey and with pregnancyMore about Lemma: Lemma Brown is a registered dietitian and person living with Type 1 Diabetes. Her diagnosis at age 19 inspired her to choose nutrition as her field of study in college because she realized almost immediately in her diagnosis how crucial how and what we eat can impact our blood sugar living with Type 1 Diabetes. She also knew that she wanted to support many others with Type 1 Diabetes and help them learn how to enjoy all foods without feeling deprived or restricted living with Type 1 Diabetes. This is why she started her virtual diabetes coaching practice about 1.5 years ago.
