Very enjoyable romp through all things Kolchak.

I feel like you aren’t Kolchak fans. Very critical of almost every episode and I cannot figure out why you covered this show at all at this point. Like it or not Kolchak inspired many great shows we see today

Kudos to the guys for putting this together and interviewing key people involved in the production, along with experts like Professor Dawidziak. Each episode was an absolute joy. I loved the opening voiceovers and the Night Stalker music. Hearing from the producers offered incredible insight...Read full review »

A show about Kolchak by non-fans who disrespect the show and also mix their politics into discussions because they have zero self-control or respect for an audience.

Entertaining and informative but the swearing isn’t necessary. I get it that you are having fun but some of us are trying to get younger people interested in these shows.

1). We love the show but are not going to avoid critiquing it. 2) The “Kolshak” thing is a reference to how Carl’s name was mispronounced during the show itself. 3) Sorry Trumpsters, we find comedy in your fearless leader. Thanks for listening, folks!

I listened to about four episodes, and it seemed to me that the two main hosts are more fans of “The X-Files” and only are interested in this show because of the connection to that one. For instance, they both disliked “The Night Strangler” movie and wished that the producers had decided to make...Read full review »

New to Kolchak but loving it and I’m a massive fan of Mike Whites projection booth podcast so this is a great find. Watching the episodes for the first time then listening to the corresponding podcast, amazing to see the influence of this show over so much TV and film that came along after...

Yeah, I’m a fan of the show. To give you an idea of my devotion to all things Kolchak, I didn’t know Darren McGavin, never met the guy, but I went to his funeral! So maybe you should take that into consideration when reading the following. That said, this is one of the most insightful podcasts...Read full review »

Hey guys, I’m really enjoying the show. I guess I’m revealing my age when I tell you that I watched the Night Stalker movies and the series when it first ran in the 70’s. I, like most people who appreciate the show, agree that it would have been better to keep it as occasional movies of the week...Read full review »

Great podcast guys. I watched Kolchak every Friday night when it originally aired. It was gratifying hearing the podcast’s hosts articulate many of the same delights and disappointments I experienced watching the series rollout back in the fall of ’74. Like why don’t they…. shake up the format;...Read full review »

I have been listening to the Kolchak Tapes podcast and I am blown away by the detail, the interviews and the general love of the character. I like that it is an honest look at something that has been important to me my entire life. I was only 10 when the original film aired on ABC in 1972 and I...Read full review »

Such a great podcast. I listen to the Projection Booth regularly, and this is SUCH A WORTHY ADDITION to that leagacy. I love Kolchak so much, it's refreshing to hear the recaps and insights...not to mention interviews with those who worked on or love the show. Lots of new facts on the...Read full review »

As a huge fan of the original 1970’s Kolchak, I love this podcast. Chris and Mike are the perfect hosts - informative, funny and thoroughly entertaining. With the Podcast featuring great interviews with people involved in the original show, The Kolchak Tapes is a must listen for any fan.

Would give it five stars just for having a podcast on the greatest show of all time. However, a couple of anti-Trump references got old real quick. Stick to the subject, leave the politics out of it.

Great to see this under-appreciated TV series getting the exposure it deserves. The discussion is balanced, problems with storylines are discussed along with episode highlights. But they do agree that the show hits more often than it misses, and it's great to hear someone discussing the...Read full review »

This show is a lot of fun. The hosts, Chris and Mike, take off their rose colored glasses and pull no punches. Each episode is critically reviewed for all the good points and bad. If you're a fan of the old show from the 70s then you'll love The Kolchak Tapes.Read full review »

Being I lifelong Kolchak fan, I have to say I could not possibly wish for a better show! Chris and Mike go out of their way to bring the listener so much info about each episode, and all of the interviews have been fantastic. they even make the reboot show sound interesting ... sort of. Mike & Chris do an excellent job reviewing/discussing the episodes of both the original series as well as the reboot. They aren't fanboys who will tell you that every episode is awesome. They are fans of the show who look at it with a critical eye so expect some honest options.Read full review »

Extremely well produced with a wealth of insider information about the first two TV movies, the series from 1974-75, and the 2005 re-boot. Absolutely delightful! These guys don't trash the show, nor do they just indulge in fan love. This is a hard show to be objective about because most...Read full review »

Gotta take a star because one host doesn’t know the title character’s name.
Moria V. via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/24/18
The hosts don’t seem to like the show they’re covering very much. Granted, my favorite show as a kid was a spotty affair, but these guys dissect each episode of this 70’s show through a modern lens to make cheap jokes. Wish it was more entertaining and informative rather than a vain attempt at...Read full review »

An exhaustive examination of one of the great television characters and his show.
