Provides some intersting nuggets, but I find the host to be grating
I don't mind a more formal interview format like this one for podcasts, but I feel the host could be a bit more genuine and less controlling with the pace and direction of the interview itself. On a handful of episodes (and as of right now there are only 7) he consistently interrupts the guest while they're talking to try to push them further down the timeline of their story. I understand trying to manage time, but often whatever the guest was talking about gets derailed and is never returned to, which is frustrating. Not knowing Jason Wachob before finding this podcast, I get absolutely no sense of who he is or what he stands for in terms of health and wellness. This may be fine for some, but I like getting to know a podcast host and I just feel like his personality falls flat. All I really know about him so far is that he reeeally loves Whole Foods. This is definitely a normie health and wellness podcast, despite the host's insistence that it's "not the Today Show". Most questions are softballs that don't really add anything very interesting to the conversation. As a health and wellness enthusiast working in the healthcare sector, I would enjoy a deeper dive into the topics at hand that ask some thought-provoking questions. I do enjoy the wide variety of guests that Jason has brought on so far, and each of their stories have been intriguing and unique in their own right. My thought is that if you're a more laid-back consumer of health and wellness info, this podcast is probably for you. But if you want allofthedetails and want to go deep, I'd say move on.Read full review »
