Helping me through social distancing
Love the show. You get the unfiltered riffing on football from the data science perspective. They can be a bit hardline in that direction, but you can always tell they love the game, love talking about it, and enjoy each other, which leads to great chemistry. Plus for all their focus on the data side of things, they show you a reasonably well rounded human point of view, which is helpful in these times, including being thoughtful about race and public health--even if they don't focus on stuff outside of football much. Two questions/discussion prompts that are flip sides of each other: 1) Guys like you would be hired by teams, but probably not put in charge. We always hear what you wouldn't do, but we know in real life you might have to compromise severely. For example, pick a team that's done something like draft Justin Herbert and imagine it's your job to help serve that vision. What would you do? No quitting. 2) The fun version: Pick a team that's been run suboptimally and put yourself in charge for a season or offseason. But other people have free will. If you want to sign a guy or trade for a guy, you need to up the ante slightly from what the actual price was. Sending best wishes for George's sister. Thanks for entertaining me during social distancing.Read full review »

As I come from a hockey background, I’m curious to know which advanced stats, metrics, or analytical concepts from other sports have helped the most to inform your football knowledge, or...Read full review »
