“This is an interesting group of videos but in almost every facet their is science missed, glossed over, or completely ignored. A couple of examples:
High fructose corn syrup: in the video, she covers none of the metabolic process in which fructose is converted to glucose in the liver (which is why long distance runners are often recommended a hfcs rich drink to restore glycogen levels in the liver because it is the most efficient way to do so based on how our body metabolizes monosaccharides). It is a false hood that fructose is not converted to glucose.
Calcium: the watcher is given no details on calcium as a whole. No rda (recommended dietary allowance) exists, only an AI (adaquate intake) does. That means while the number of 1000+ mg of calcium is an estimation and not enough conclusive research exists to establish an rda. On top of that calcium absorption maximums (500mg) isn't covered. Our bodies can only absorb a maximum amount of calcium in a single sitting, nor are the most effective formats of calcium supplement given to body conditions. For example calcium citrate is considered one of the best forms since calcium absorption increases in a high acidic environment.
All and all, these videos have good input but contain only small glances at the subjects contained. A good starting point, but seriously lacking in comprehensive science. Additional research should be done if any of these videos subjects have interested you.”
