My New Year's Wish for You
Listen now
Description
In this week's short episode I share a brief update on TPW plans and my wishes for you in the coming new year. May 2024 be a new year of growth, prosperity, good health and meaningful connections for us all As we wrap up this year and begin thinking about the year to come, I want to share some heartfelt wishes that I hope will inspire and uplift you as we step into another year. I will share some links in the show notes to some episodes where we’ve talked about some of these things, in case you want to think more about them. 1. As we begin the new year, my first wish for you is Strength and Resilience. May you find the inner fortitude to face life's ups and downs with grace and courage. Remember the words of Maya Angelou: "I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it. 2. Next, I wish you Health and Wellbeing. It’s been said that our health is our wealth. This year, I encourage you to take small steps towards a healthier you, be it through mindful eating, regular exercise, or taking moments to simply breathe and be present. 3. My third wish is for Joy and Fulfillment. May this year bring you countless moments of happiness and opportunities to do what you love. Set goals, not just tasks, and let your heart guide you to what truly fulfills you." 4. Finally, I wish you Love and Connection. In a world that's constantly busy, may you find time to connect with those you love and build strong, supportive relationships. Remember, we are stronger together.  TPW and me:  I want to thank those of you I’ve heard from over the past few weeks in response to questions I asked about the future and the role of this podcast in your life. It’s been a challenging year for me in several ways, and I’ve been grateful for your support and encouragement.  I also wanted to let you know that, as I’ve done once or twice in the past, I will be taking the month of January to spend time thinking, planning, and resting, after a particularly stressful year-end. I do not currently plan to publish new substantive episodes in January. I know it might seem a little counterintuitive to launch a new year with quiet and silence when most productivity thinkers are all about kicking off the new year with big goals in mind and big action toward those goals. But as I’ve mentioned before, the last month or so of the year is always an extremely busy time for my legal practice--I’m a real estate lawyer, representing commercial real estate clients like developers and lenders, and they always have several deals they want to close before year end. That means I have little time, energy, or attention in November and December to focus on goal-setting or planning for the new year. For me, then, at this stage of my life, January is the better time to do those things.  I might drop in with a short update here and there and possibly will share some episodes from the vault that I think might be worth revisiting. I might even drop into the Facebook group with a video chat or two during January or schedule a Zoom chat just to catch up. I do plan to be thinking about upcoming episodes and welcome your suggestions. And I am going to be reading--looking forward to reading How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy, by Jenny Odell.   But please know that I’ll be back in February with new content. And I’ll be here in the meantime if you have any questions or just want to talk--so feel free to post in the Facebook group or email me at [email protected]. What do you think? What are some wishes you have for yourself in the new year? Post your thoughts and suggestions in the comments section below or in a href="h...
