Description
Joining Alan Biggs in The Ref Show studio today were BBC Sport and Match Of The Day pundit Mark Lawrenson and ex Premier League referee Roger Dilkes to look back over the action in the Premier League and Football League as well as reflect on the first showpiece occasion of the season, the Carabao Cup final. Martin Atkinson was in charge of Man United's 2-1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford and delivered a performance of high standard, whilst at Wembley Man City picked up the first trophy of the season comfortably beating Arsenal 3-0, but how did referee Craig Pawson fare and what did the panel make of the VAR on its 11th outing in domestic English football? There's discussion on all of the rest of the games in the Premier League whilst in the EFL, there was much debate over the performance of Neil Swarbrick, with the Select Group 1 referee on duty when Sheff Wed were beaten 4-2 at home to Aston Villa.
