“I so wanted to like the Robert Mays show. Simmons' stuff is fine, we know his shtick.
But Mays sounds like he's in a rush just to get it over with. He has zero clue about developing chemistry with his guests. Kevin or Danny will try to float a funny or interesting sidebar and Mays will dismiss it and move on most of the time. The show has all the character of dry toast.
This show is a lot like the writing at The Ringer, mildly interesting but lacking fresh humor and unique insight. I'm hoping someone can emerge as the new Barnwell or Tanier, but none of these guys are promising.”Read full review »
