Under-Qualified Jabbering
"It was between Taylor and Cousins for this final spot." These guys are rambling but I cannot figure out who they are, or why I would care about their supposed analysis? This is awful, and I cannot believe these are the most qualified writers to host a podcast that is backed by Bill Simmons. I'd rather listen to Cousin Sal take pot shots at over/under scenarios (is that available anywhere?). I also tried to listen to The Ringer's supposed NBA show and it sounds very similar: blundering inexperience, hyperbole stacked on top of hypotheticals and wrapped in gossip. I fail to see the appeal, but maybe this is not for me? I'm 31, and I played football and basketball, and I love these games, and analysis of the teams and players can be fun to listen to via podcast. This pod is pretty sad, clunky and dorky and detached and not engaging nor interesting. These guys did do some light prep, but there's no connection to the game. Maybe this is supposed to be fantasy oriented? I dislike that aspect of sports journalism, so I am predisposed to dislike shows that lean that way. If these guys could improve I'd say add some other people who have been around the game a little more and cut down on the conjecture. Preparation seems to be a 3/5; Flow 1/5; Who is it for? Casual fantasy players who are afraid to play for money and have never been to a sports book.Read full review »

It's really unacceptable that a major show has the hosts sounding like they are calling in on a...Read full review »

Mays is okay, but Clark is turrible, not just terrible, Charles Barkley turrible (see the Top 10 QB preseason episode). I thought it might get better when the season started, but no such luck. On the Week 2, 2016 review they didn't even talk about some games. I don't think the...Read full review »
