April is a photographer, environmentalist, storyteller and diver. Her diverse experience and passion for the planet comes to life in her photography and writing. Growing up around the logging and fishing industries, she stepped away from her home and later developed a very different relationship with the ocean and her backyard. Sometimes it takes stepping away to discover what was there all along.

As a surfer and lover of the ocean, ironically I'm rarely off my surfboard. I was recently introduced to something called 'Wild Swimming' from Sophie in the U.K., and I haven't looked back since. This is an entirely different way to get connected with water, and reap the mental and physical benefits for your mind and body. Jordan is what I would describe as an Extroverted Introvert. She's a citizen of the Kul Wicasa Oyate (Lower Brule Sioux Tribe), and a passionate advocate for Indian Country and all people. You may recognize her for the red handprint on her face, a symbol that she's running and speaking up for MMIW, an epidemic being ignored involving missing and murdered Indigenous women (MMIW).
