“After the first episode, they only looked to show how Canada was mean to a certain group of people rather then the over all situation at the time. It was World War One, over a million Canadian engaged in the war. I truly believe that any of those soldiers would have traded to be in a work camp in Alberta then in the trenches. Yes, I am sure it was not pleasant in the camps but the odds of death where much smaller. You say they where away from there family's, they had lack of food and it was dangerous work. Think of what the soldiers went through. If the Canadian army had of conscripted the same men into the army instead of put them into camps. They would not be remember any more then any other Canadian soldier. Not even considering the parks would have still got build if there had not been a war in the first place. They would have had the money and the men to do it. All I am saying is that you should not just put down Canada because you are only taking a small picture and forgetting what else was happening at the time. Maybe that's why they never told there grand kids or complained because you would be complaining to people that fought in the war or people that had husbands and fathers that never returned.”Read full review »
