A (weekly) dissection is imperative
The gents of The Songtopsy Report introduced themselves to my fiancée and I via their December 2017 skewering of my favorite fundamentally-awful holiday record: Linda Bennett's "An Old Fashioned Christmas (Daddy's Home)" (a good place to start if you read this by the 25th). We've been boosters ever since. Nick, Mike and Steve do an excellent job researching every feature to provide history and context...all the while being ridiculously funny. As I write, I'm revisiting last year's homage to "The Christmas Shoes". And I suspect I'll be queueing up these shows again for many Yuletides to come. Nick and Mike, unlike damned liar scientists, truly understand the miracles behind what makes a song so bad its good. By the end of each episode they collectively feel like your best friend. You'll laugh so hard you'll need to check into a crazytown. I'm done now.Read full review »
