Often long form podcasts become bogged down with too many characters and not enough suspense. But not this podcast, which will hold your attention to the end.

Heartbreaking! Brilliantly done thank you!

Quality and Production appeared good Subject and story appeared interesting However, hoping it might have more insight into either suicide or murder theory, all it seemed was an excersise in police bashing. I spent two decades living not far from the scene. The police in that area have always...Read full review »

It’s interesting to listen to from a sociological perspective. Firstly, as a classic example of denial in the case of overwhelming facts. Secondly, as a case history of how journalists can procrastinate and pad out a rather tragic and closed case. Perhaps the victim had a secret life that he...Read full review »

I had never heard of this case. So many unanswered questions. The police did a terrible job of investigating what happened! My heart goes out to the family. I don’t think it was a suicide!

Cool story, the mixing and limiting on the sound levels make it almost unlistenable. Unexpected from the BBC.
CLHays via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/08/21
This could easily have been a 1 hr show. I thought the journalist was happy to stretch out a personal tragedy for the family for his own glorification. I actually feel quite cross that this podcast was made to be honest. Avoid.

I listened to this entire podcast and it’s just weird. The host is practically whispering or something and combined with the sound leveling I was straining to hear basic facts. The podcast feels hollow. A man fell from the top level of a parking garage in England when everyone in his life thought...Read full review »

This case is so sad. But very clearly a suicide, unfortunately. They’re sadly so common and he’s behavior is very compatible in my opinion. May he Rest In Peace and may the family find comfort somehow 🙏🏽

Nothing I heard in this podcast convinces me this was anything other than what the police said it was.

So many families can’t accept their loved ones commit suicide, and the majority of suicides are carried out in a very short decision-making timeline. This family and this reporter need to let go. People can act happy when they’re fighting depression. They can have everything going for them and...Read full review »

Compelling and tragic story, sensitively told. I could listen to the host all day...a beautifully velvet voice!

I found this podcast quite compelling. However it also leaves many unexplored questions. Why would the main character take out all the cash he had and go to Stratford? Could there have been other motives? Could he have been involved in drug selling perhaps or a desire to enter that scene?

... like a well done investigation though i would like to know if they checked when the guard rail was put up there -if it had been there at the time of his death or if it was put up after? Just to be super thorough... in writing moment im at the end of episode 3 and pretty upset for the family....Read full review »

I've been listening to podcasts full time since May 2007, so I can easily spot faults. Besides the unintelligible Scottish brogue (to most of the world), it was layered over top of unnecessary street sounds, unexplained background conversation, and swelling orchestral music. I just let the...Read full review »

This was certainly worth a listen though a little anticlimactic but throughno fault of the podcaster / researchers etc. A tragic case regardless of the cause and I’d recommend listening to the whole lot of them.

Way too many episodes for a case that could be summed up in one. Maybe two. Repeating itself over and over. Disappointing.

With much editing it would have made a great 60 minutes with more impact and value. Heartbreaking loss for the family.

Excellent production of a death that the police ruled a suicide — but others have their doubts. The evidence is presented in a fair and compelling fashion. Good attention to detail in the storytelling. I’m sorry for Mr. Ewart’s family.

A brilliant podcast expertly executed by Mick Morton. There needs to be pressure put on the Met to reveal what they know. Missing police notebooks and inconsistencies re the cinema cctv are just a couple of the incongruous police aspects of this case. Have a listen and imagine Innes was your son...

I have listened to dozens and dozens of true crime investigation podcasts & this one is without question the worst I have ever heard. In fact, it is so bad I’m really angry - on behalf of the family, who have been led a merry dance by the journalist, and of the bbc for producing this drivel,...Read full review »

The programme maker was so good with Innes’ family. Their pain was palpable. I cannot imagine living with the uncertainty of not knowing how my son died. This is a sad podcast, but well worth listening to. I hope the family find comfort in knowing people are learning about the circumstances and...Read full review »

My heart goes out to his family. The police clearly made no effort to investigate and thus allowed murderers of this innocent man to go free. To those people who still think this is a suicide - did you listen to the entire podcast? The podcast does an excellent job of investigating and makes a...Read full review »

So much speculation about what could have happened. The family just can’t accept their son had a mental breakdown and committed suicide. Sometimes the happiest people on the outside are fighting a dark war inside. So sorry for their loss, but this story was just going in circles. Someone having a...Read full review »

Good work from the journalist but ultimately unable to shed further light on what might have happened to Innes Ewart. Recommended listening.

This podcast comes to nothing. There’s no conclusion, no new information. It’s just a whole series to review the case basically. A shame because I really hope the family have light shed on this some day.

I appreciated the host’s sensitive approach and story-telling...unlike a lot in the genre this podcast didn’t feel exploitative or grubby. Not a heap of breakthroughs, but well put together and honours the life of an intelligent man who deserved better in death.

Really enjoyed this podcast, incredibly tragic and thought and emotion provoking but really well worth the listen if you like true crime and mystery, just really hope the Ewarts’ get they answers they deserve x

A truly sad story, and I can’t imagine the family’s grief. However, from a podcasting perspective, the story is just okay. There’s no “bombshell” moment or even really compelling arguments about suicide vs. suspicious death. The information is scant and each episode ruminates on the same one or...Read full review »

The mysterious death of an innocent unraveled, the truth glimmers through layers of obfuscation thanks to the first rate journalism of this podcast.

Great podcast. Thoughtful journalism that seeks to find the truth behind a tragic event. As with other good podcasts such as ‘Serial’ it questions how the police investigate and leave you a little more uncertain about the truth behind stated verdicts.

Podcast about a young Scottish lad who ends up at the bottom of a multi story car park on London. Suicide?
