Loving this podcast, totally addicted, and yes there’s SUCH a difference for training for hiking and climbing compared to what’s offered in gyms. The two are so totally different. This podcast is in my Top 3 of Australian Adventure related podcasts. Well done you for identifying a real need.

After listening to several podcasts, I downloaded “Hikers Knee Prevention Guide.” It’s a very detailed schedule and plan that tells you what to do for the different types of exercises, and they all ( or most?) have links to YouTube. I’m so glad I found this resource! Thank you, Rowan!

This is the best app I have found to give me advice to train specifically for hiking. I have been trekking and training for many years now, but have still learned a lot from this podcast. I love it.

As a fellow Aussie hiker (52) and run my own business which is focused on the mental benefits of hiking. Listening to your show is so exciting and inspiring. From someone who completed a solo end-to-end of the 1000km Bibbulmun Track at 48, unfit and stressed. You’re so right and your show would...Read full review »

In lockdown in Melbourne and only allowed out an hour a day for exercise but really found your seven beliefs podcast so inspiring and positive during a challenging time. Thanks - love catching up on these podcasts and one day I will be back out on the trails again! Sam

One of my favourite podcasts and certainly the best if you’re training for hiking! Rowan includes such brilliant information in short bursts, meaning you get a download on really important topics in less than 10 minutes. Rowan is incredibly honest which I love!

This podcast and his website are really the only great hiking training advice out there. There are articles of dubious quality but Summit Strength really seems to be the most qualified, specific and comprehensive. He does online training as well which I signed up for!

I was getting back into hiking before covid-19 hit and this podcast has been great to keep me motivated during isolation. It’s short enough that it keeps things relevant and has great tips for things you can do without being able to get out on a hike. Rowan is a great host and when I emailed with...Read full review »

Rowan’s show covers a lot of ground. He and his guests provide explanations for athletes at all levels on an impressively wide range of subjects. Having credible science-based advice is key, but is sadly all too rare in the podcast world. This show fills that niche very nicely. Highly recommended.

Thank you Rowan. Came across your podcasts today. This is the third in a row I listened to while cleaning up the garden. These are life saving tips! I will be putting these to use starting immediately as I plan a few treks in the next year or so. Cheers. Shihan

I’m not even training at the moment, but find every episode I’ve listened to so far has good information and I come away with something that can personally apply to my physical endeavors. Rowan is a very gentle, encouraging host and trainer. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Rowan’s podcast is jammed with useful tips, he must be super-in-demand as a trek trainer yet gives this all free. I had to cancel my charity trek due to heart inflammation & he was super supportive even tho I’m only a listener, not a client. Just heard his “if your trip’s cancelled” and his...Read full review »
