What a lovely podcast! Thanks for telling the story of the real and fake Zombies, hope there are more episodes in the future. Incredible storytelling.

Two bands with nothing in common except their place at the end of the alphabet… AND… well you’ll just have to listen. Such a fascinating true story. My favorite episode is #7, with Zombies lead singer Colin Blundstone.

What an amazing story, and a great production.

Should’ve been three episodes, four tops. Reintroduces people and plot points as though his listeners were in memory care. Last episode makes no sense. Suddenly crooks are victims and stolen bandnames become “borrowed.” Allows thieves to present themselves as honest simply because they rightly...Read full review »

An interesting story but stretched out way too much. I also found the adverts for other podcasts too long and not really very well targeted at the audience. I can do without Bruce being a gay icon, sounded a touch desperate to me.

This is an exceptionally well researched subject about a pretty obscure time in music history in a destination that was a hotbed of music making. Daniel Ralston’s narrative style is compelling and makes you want to know more. The Fake Zombies represent the strangeness of human nature, a sliver in...Read full review »

This could have been 2 episodes and it would have been more bearable. The narrator repeats facts and story elements over and over and makes obvious declarations after spending 20 minutes excruciatingly beating an point to death. We get it. And the recapped version of the audio from the only...Read full review »

Well researched and narrated, fascinating story. Anyone who leaves a negative review is a troll.

This is a fascinating part of music history, not only for the fake Zombies part of it, but also the era where it all took place and musicians who were involved. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone so I’ll just say I’m hooked and looking forward to hear the rest of the story.

What a great untold story of rock history. I’ve binged the first 3 episodes and I’m anxiously looking forward to the rest. I’m from Texas and very familiar with ZZ Top but was not aware of this part of their origin story. Extra credit for the Ben Fong-Torres cameo. Love you Ben ✨

This podcast clearly wants to drag a simpler story into more episodes and hence more ad revenue without adding relevant facts and education or anything that makes the story better. Honestly go read the rolling stone article. And relevant ZZ Top facts. This pod is not good.

This is an absolute gem. Fake versions of the British Invasion group The Zombies touring the US, members of ZZ Top, ? And The Mysterions and a dead man singing. And all beautifully assembled
