“In the negative way you talk about the upcoming election, especially, because our democracy is at stake!
I believe voters, in both parties, need to stop complaining because they don't get everything THEY want from their government. You know that compromise is the only way a two party system operates; and, as President Obama told us "change takes time".
I believe that the negativity produces more apathy and fewer people voting, because they think their vote doesn't count.
To me, not voting IS A VOTE for what you don't want. Just like I know people who couldn't bring themselves to vote for either Trump or Hillary. I'm sure there were a lot of those people that didn't vote, and we got President Trump!
For you, and others, the Trump-Biden isn't your preference. Would I rather see Pete Buttigieg in that race..yes...but because I understand what horrendous things will happen if Trump wins, I will vote for whoever the Democrat is. I'm voting for the direction I want the country to go in, not specifically who is running. And Biden has done great things for the country..even though not all Democrats got everything on their wishlist.
Another reason I think the negative talk is detrimental, is it will, probably, push people to make a "protest" for a 3rd party candidate or someone like RFK Jr, both of which will siphon votes from Biden and help elect Trump! Just as the 3rd party votes contributed to Hillary's defeat.
