The families of those killed and injured in the 1974 Dublin-Monaghan Bombings will be marking the fiftieth anniversary later this month. Aidan Shields, Sharon and Paul Askin, all lost loved ones in the disaster. They're taking part in a new six-part documentary series on RTÉ Radio 1, The Forgotten, starting at 6.30pm on Tuesday May 7th.

Celebrated writer Salman Rushdie was subjected to a savage knife attack in 2022. The attack came 33-years after the Supreme Leader of Iran issued a fatwa calling for him to be killed, in protest at his novel The Satanic Verses.
