Poor Brendan lives in fear of being sued between 11am and 12pm every Sunday, as he consistently cuts his guests short the minute they dare to give an opinion. Pathetic! He constantly interrupts, gives his own opinion too much and raises his voice to continue talking over guests in order to push...Read full review »

Please please please ask guests to refrain from using ‘you know’ every second word. It’s becoming impossible to listen to the programme recently because it’s so irritating.

Brendan is a breath of fresh air. Great at listening , great questions, a very empathetic, sound & a bit of craic. When I miss the show I download the episodes. Always has something interesting .Keep up the great work

Brendan has proven to be an unworthy successor to the late great Marian Finucane. He constantly limits, edits, censors, qualifies, and negates what his guests and panellists are saying. The ghost of the Panti interview looms large in his head. Pity. I’ve switched to Anton on Newstalk: so much...Read full review »

Wey- Hey for Brendan! He approaches every subject, every issue, every question, every problem, every person with the same degree of a breezy honesty and the combination of gentleness ( on probing) and force ( in helping to cut the crap. I love his accent! True to his roots with no pretensions...Read full review »

I do like Brendan’s out look! 👍👍👍 but my god, this show has got more woke by the week. Brenda use to be a comedian…. I remember some of the things he said in the past (which is fine) but he would hang himself with his standards today. 🤔

Brendan O’Connor’s opinions on the views of his interviewees are irrelevant and he should not voice them oh “his” show, (as he does constantly). He is not a recognised expert on anything and should not behave as if he is. He should be impartial as the host of a panel discussion. He also should...Read full review »

I listen to both weekend shows always (or podcasts) and find them very informative and enjoyable. I like brendans style, he comes across as very genuine and he takes an impartial stand.

Adrian’s US tour is more to do with romance than reality. As an Irish man living in the US for over 25 years I have visited 42 states and currently live in Arizona. The town of Sedona that Adrian waxes lyrically over is thought of more as a tourist trap and when I was there it didn’t conjure up...Read full review »

Always a great show. Very informative and entertaining. Everyone I know loves it and we often have chats about what we listened to on the show. If I miss it I will listen back to the podcast. Brendan excels on this show.

Generally a good mix of contributors to the newspaper panel but Brendan constantly feels the need to limit what guests can say or to dilute what they’ve said. ‘To be fair’, let’s be careful now’ All in all, one of the better shows

Enjoy the show but using Brendan’s mortuary card for promoting it is a little weird

Love the show. Listen every week to stay in touch with home

Genuinely love the show and look forward to it every weekend. Brendan is such a skilful, enthusiastic, empathetic interviewer and always willing to have the craic too. Podcast segments perfect format too in case one misses the show. It’s the best show on Radio 1 bar none.
PeterH_Kilkenny via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 08/24/22
It’s a worthwhile discussion Brendan. as she says there is balance involved. We will never make headway whilst only exploring our thoughts and feelings. I’ve done it, and it’s dangerous when we go too far down that road.

I love Brendan on the radio. He is far removed from the ‘sticking to the script’ style of presenting I often here on R1. He actively listens and responds to answers rather than just moving on to the next question. Also very empathetic-and not afraid to show it. Please presenters, stop being...Read full review »

I like RTE shows and they have some really talented journalists and broadcasters. However Brendan O’Connor is not at the races... he is too self indulgent and doesn’t dare invite guests on to his show who might possibly challenge his many flawed views!
Newstalk Fan via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 01/10/22
Very biased liberal views unashamedly rammed down listeners throats with no sign of any balance or guests with views that differ to the hosts views. The show is obsessed with Covid 19 and pedals FEAR and panic at every opportunity. Terrible content, insufferable host and bland guests! 👎

Brendan couldn’t lace Marian’s boots. Too busy interjecting with glib comments and his own opinions to allow a worthwhile conversation to develop. Please RTE, put ANYONE else into this slot.

Marian must be spinning if she hears the drivel this idiot puts out ever weekend. Turned off months ago.

Love the show. Can’t get podcasts referred to in programme. Edith Eger is one such example. In today’s show Brendan said he would upload the interview he did with her last year ...... no sign yet!

Playback / podcasts not available Why ? So slow? Should be able to access as soon as live shows finish Why do you advertise listen back?? Show is more a light entertainment magazine show. There is a market that valued the gravitas of the former Marion Finnucane RIP-shows which is not now...Read full review »

I enjoy the show. Please upload the podcast each week. Annoying when only bits of the show is available. Thank you

5 * for Brendan, I love the show, but have to unsubscribe and resubscribe every week to update the podcasts. I do not have to do this for any other podcast and am wondering with all the complaints why it cannot be sorted.
Duggie047 via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 10/18/20
Why bother having Brendan o connors Sunday show as a podcast if youre only going to upload small snippets of the frivolous stuff? Where have the early panel discussions gone? Why bother I deed. So annoying!!!
Whites ear via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 10/12/20
Why have a podcast series if you not prepared to keep it up to date? And when you do bother to put them up put all the shoe up!!! Actually better still fire the person in charge of up loading podcasts and give the job to someone who cares enough to do a good job! Thanks
MagsCremin via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 09/27/20
I usually love Brendan’s show but the management of uploading the show’s podcasts is very poor. They’re rarely uploaded and it’s frustrating waiting on them each week. Brendan is hilarious and a good listen but you need some better management of this part.

Great show but abysmal podcast availability. Contacted RTE regarding this numerous times but they’re not interested.

I try to listen live now as the podcasts are so unpredictable. However, it’s difficult to find 2 hours free both Saturday and Sunday. Can you please put up the podcasts again. Thank you.

In an era where tremendous female broadcasters are flourishing why this buffoon was chosen to replace Marian Finucane is a mystery up there to rival the third secret of Fatima. Oafish , leaden , lubberly ; in summary a lumpen time awaits those misfortunate enough to waste their time listening...Read full review »
