“Brendan O’Connor’s opinions on the views of his interviewees are irrelevant and he should not voice them oh “his” show, (as he does constantly). He is not a recognised expert on anything and should not behave as if he is. He should be impartial as the host of a panel discussion.
He also should not “ambush” his guests. His attack on his guest
Professor Richard Dawkins’ views on Down’s Syndrome, (not just an interrogation of those views), having invited him on the show under apparently false pretences (to discuss Dawkins’ new book), was very unprofessional.
Radio show panel hosts should confine themselves to moderating the panel discussion. Brendan O’Connor’s personal views are irrelevant and he should keep them to himself whilst chairing
panel discussions.”
