a few months ago i found a lump in my left breast. it's been a frustrating process, to say the least. i'm sure it's fine, but docs haven't been able to give me an answer with 100% cerntainty, and i'm not sure how to resolve that! nobody likes uncertainty, so why is it so hard to figure this out?! in this episode i talk about what the journey of ultrasounds and second and even third opinions has been like. i'm definitely not a doctor, nor am i very knowledgable about breast cancer and breast...

i recently witnessed to ocean vuong, the iconic poet, accept an award at a gala i recently attended, in which he completely upended the way i have understood this phenomenon of "imposter syndrome." his words have been at the forefront of my mind the last week, and have felt like a catalyst to a major breakthrough i'm facing about how i understand self-worth and practice self-affection. i recently sat on a panel with ashton applewhite, the first "ageism activist" i've ever met. hearing her talk about how we're all conditioned to be ageist, and how ageism and ableism go hand in hand, was super eye-opening and thought provoking -- and i'm just going to be blunt about *all* the reflections i've been having about aging, age, and ageism. would love to know what you think!! i had a big self-care day of therapy and catching up with my psychiatrist. tldr i am, of course, still experiencing anxiety and depression symptoms, but frustrated by how i keep just getting pushed to increase my meds dosage. i want to work on the root of these symptoms and not just tack on band-aid solutions. my therapist also suggested ketamine infusion to work on some ptsd symptoms and i'm curious if anyone here has tried that before or know people who have? In this episode, we face these thoughts, instead of trying to avoid them, and I share some things I’ve been experimenting with for coping.  Host: Nadya Okamoto Executive Producer: Nadya Okamoto Producer: Kelsey Klein, Larry Shapiro,...
