Wadwah the mansplainer
Although the show did lose some of its magic after Alex and PJ left, the last two episodes with Meredith were getting back on track! It’s too bad that this segment seems to be cancelled. Even though it’s a year later, I am still disgusted by Wadhwa’s response in Episode 45. Yes, it was wrong for them not to ask him for an interview, but they more than compensated him by allowing him 20 minutes of unedited airtime to present himself in a favorable light. Instead he became a mouthpiece spewing condescending, aggressive remarks about women not understanding journalism and refusing to have any conversation with Meredith about anything other than how much his feelings were hurt. As he complained about being a spokesperson for women, he talked right over the woman in front of him, repeatedly. She was amazingly poised in the situation, and the undertones of anger in her voice were justified. Having already been publicly shamed by her producer, which was a questionable decision by NPR, she had to be verbally pushed around by an intensely patronizing man who refused to have any sort of meaningful conversation that wasn’t about his wounded sense of pride. The only positive thing he said about women in media is that some of them had said positive things about him. Ironically, he proves the negative comments about him true in this interview in which he could have defended himself. To him, it seemed, the fact that he’d given a lot of his money to women’s groups exempted him from having any real conversation about the issue. Wow. I feel bad for his colleagues and students, if he’s like this all the time. Meredith, I’m sorry you had to sit through that!

More reviews of TLDR
I guess Vogt and Goldman were complaining that they didn’t have enough ‘input’ into OTM, so they gave the kids their ‘own’ podcast to play with. We get to listen to what ever internet drivel they were fascinated with this week. Consistently boring, dull, and of no interest to me what so ever. ...Read full review »

TL;DR used to be awesome, but the new crew failed to win me over. The fangirlish gloating over some horoscope site made me unsubscribe. Sorry.
