And it’s irritating beyond belief. It’s all I hear.

A decent daily news podcast which does a thorough deep dive of one topic each afternoon. The only problem (common to a lot of Vox things) is the too-frequent attempt to be “hip for millenials”. I cringe a little bit each time they try.

I just listened to the Kirsten Sinema episode. Your title said what does she want. I did not expect to get her whole biography. All I wanted to know and what does she want. Now 13 minutes into it I have to turn it off because I don’t need her bio. And I still don’t know what she wants. Do...Read full review »

I find this a great summary of the important topics hitting the world today - by delving in a little deeper with brackground and some analysis... and TRYING to keep it unbiased (there are times when it certainly isn't and other times when restraint is keenly obvious - but I think it is well...Read full review »

I don’t hate it, except the host is annoying and the background music is too loud and most of the episodes seem less like “explaining today” than just some story they happened to have lying around. I started following because the episode on the TX abortion bill was really good; I cancelled a...Read full review »

I am glad I could turn it off. I didn’t like romantic music for the interruption of the life cycle either but probably great for low iq older teens. I am done with today explained after vaccine for malaria episode. There are other great Vox podcasts

It’s getting almost impossible to listen to it. Everything has a stupid sound effect or loud music making it hard to hear the speakers. I guess they think Everything is hilarious. It’s too bad.

I have listened to this show from the beginning. Sean Ramaswarren is an excellent journalist. The question is.....who is Brake Master Cylinder?

I have loved this podcast for a long time and always feel like I learn something big when I listen. The background music however is extremely annoying and really takes away from the actual content of the episode. It’s distracting and doesn’t even really match the stories very well. The little repetitive ringing sound effect in the ads drives me crazy!!! Honestly going to stop listening to it just because of this.

Today, explained is part of my daily podcast routine. I love the wide range of episodes and appreciate that it is released later in the day so I have something to look forward to after my morning podcasts. Really appreciate all the work the team does! Thank you!

No only are you going to get quality news, but you’re also going to have that news delivered to you by one of the best podcast hosts I’ve ever listened to. Keep up the good work everyone.

Sean and the team do a wonderful job outlining important stories in under half an hour. I look forward to it every day.

I have been listening for quite some time and I love the timeliness of all of the reporting. The stories often intersect with my daily conversations. I felt compelled to comment after hearing the recent reference to Omar Little from The Wire at the end of yesterday’s episode (9/8/21). So well...Read full review »

So, I only have a little respect for the kardashians because my aunt worked with them for modeling multiple times and speaks very highly of them. However I thought the episode was really interesting and I’ve had a new perspective on them since

Great show. Great explanatory journalism. I have never had news on explained to me before the way Vox does. Keep up the good work. You’re obviously a hard-working team.

This used to be my favourite daily news podcast but the ad load has ballooned to an absolutely absurdly high fraction of the overall content. This devalues the entire production at this point. Be bold. Raise your prices. This is serving neither your listeners nor your ad partners.

I do love this show but the how to forgive episode sounds like somebody who has been having kids and not paying attention for the last extremely important five years

I’ve listened to this podcast daily, for years. The accent on ‘Afghanistan’ and ‘Taliban’ made this episode intolerable. And it’s such an important episode! How did Vox not catch this when they were recording and editing?

Ads
I usually don’t listen to ads but the Facebook ad that played really bugged me. Facebook is trying to keep its ability to track you online for targeted ads, it isnt something I agree with and I unsubscribed as a result. Didn’t enjoy the podcast much anyway

Olympics should be nothing about politics but you pour dirty water onto it with your pathetic discriminative perspective.

Is a Panic at the Disco joke title really appropriate for talking about an ongoing global pandemic that has killed millions? I’d prefer it if you dropped the goofy / quirky attitude for certain topics which deserve a more respectful tone.
Kid Midas via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/27/21
Long time listener of show, and I feel as though it has become a lot less objective and is tending to lean very left of any topic. It is easy listening which is nice, but needs better experts and and a more central standpoint
Rorydddd via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 07/26/21
I am not sure who the intended audience is for this podcast. The topics are of interest to adults but the sound design seems targeted to somewhat unsophisticated pre-teens between intrusive sound effects and silly voices laid over the interviews. It is disrespectful to the guests and topics but...Read full review »

The most recent episode of pandemic postcards was extremely touching. I am an American who moved to china to do my dissertation research in 2019, and then fell in love. The content is consistently there, the host is good, but they need to give their sound editor a shake. It’s like they are a bunch of gen x-ers trying to mimic zoomer YouTube videos and remain relevants to the ´youths’. Like seriously. There are not words to describe how bad this drinking episode is. I knew it was trouble when “America was drinking from the very beginning” was about Plymouth — that was 1621, Virginia was settled in 1607 and by 1621 was already on the way to slavery. I’d suggest you go back to school.

I know Vox doesn’t really need my review but I figured I’d leave one anyway. This is my go-to daily news podcast! Variety of topics presented with good editing and sourcing. News presented in a way that doesn’t make me want to explode into ribbons.
