Your pharmacy is not your enemy
I’m on a plane right now, and I just bought WiFi to write this because the episode on Roe V Wade made me a bit upset. I live in a blue state, work in a pharmacy, and I am abundantly pro choice. Patients who are prescribed Accutane have ALWAYS had to get pregnancy tests and sign attestations that they are using birth control. Accutane causes horrible birth defects. But if someone were to get pregnant while they’re taking this medication? Of course I would support them getting an abortion. I also dispense methotrexate all the time, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it being used for an abortion. I can empathize with women who are being put in a horrible position after Roe was overturned—but this is the fault of the Supreme Court. Not the medical community.
