Execution is meh; too much self-absorption and unedited rambling
Surprised by the 5-star reviews. I love the concept of the show; would love to see it produced and tightened up to clean up the massive repetition among the thru-hikers’ responses. Was alarmed by the Canadian woman who boasted of forcing her way into a strangers’ car. I get why she thinks it’s funny or brazen, but it’s probably illegal and doesn’t reflect well on her or the show. Wish they’d been more thoughtful in selecting folks; some of them are just boring, some of them seem dangerously self-absorbed. There’s a lack of perspective; 20 minutes-worth of rambling from multiple hikers about cold-soaked oats isn't really interesting. This show would be stellar if it were produced, edited, and cleaned up.Read full review »
