He Gets It Right
My favorite aspect of this podcast is Richard O. Jones' delivery of the material. He humanizes the players in what are mostly tragedies. He maintains the florid language of the period without romanticizing the criminals, a trap historians easily fall into. He does inject wry wit when appropriate, as he is aware of the absurdity of some of the events he describes.Read full review »

Some of the podcasts will work most of them stop and will not continue. When I try to get the podcast to continue it just skips to the next one but that podcast will work but the one after will not. Waste of time.

I've been listening to Mr. Jones' podcast for a while now, and thoroughly enjoy it. His approach - regaling listeners with the written record of various media of the day - is a fresh approach. At first, I was a little leary about this podcast, especially since they seemed to be centered around the Cincinnati area. Mr. Jones seems to select mostly closed cases, but not always, and will have a multipart series on some criminals like John Dillinger or the interesting and still unsolved...Read full review »
