“With so many excellent true crime podcasts it is easy to overlook one of the unique originals- Burl Barer is one of the best and most popular true crime writers, and when he and other true crime writers start talking shop it is a slice of true crime heaven - plus what other true crime show has criminals (some reformed/ others not) offering commentary? Yes the show has technical issues and is recorded in an 1876 Virginia city style bar built in the producer's back yard. Basically, it is true crime writers and criminals sitting together in a bar, just hanging out and talking. Once you "get it" it is exactly what it intends to be, and that is often brilliant .. sometimes not. 🙄”Read full review »
