Alethea Foster was Lead Clinical Specialist Podiatrist at King’s College Hospital NHS Trust between 1985 and 2004, where she was a top class operator in her profession winning numerous awards. But things at home with her retired journalist husband John weren't great: their sex life had stopped 17 years previously and Alethea suspected he might be having an affair with an ex-colleague Julie Simpson. When Alethea stumbled across an email exchange between Julie and John which revealed they had been having an affair she was utterly devastated and emailed Julie to arrange a meeting.
