Not totally accurate
As somebody who was there at the birth of MTV and watched it from its inception, It was always rock ‘n’ roll that carried MTV. hard rock, heavy, metal, etc. Even as it is today, it has always been rock ‘n’ roll that still continually fills the stadiums.. not hip-hop, not pop music, even Michael Jackson had to hire rock musicians to make him look better. All the pop music was just fluff in between real rock artists. Get your story straight.
