Starting my day with up first while riding to work. Love the comments and quick intros in the beginnings.

I listen to this podcast almost every weekday and I really appreciate how each story is concise and easy to understand. Also a huge plus is the reports given from journalists that are actually living or working in the areas the news is happening.

This is a great morning commute podcast. Good content, digestible, timely.

There are a handful of podcasts I listen to each day, and this is definitely one of them. Sober, concise and well done-

As an early riser I love catching up with the headlines on Up First! As part of the first watch shift of the day I always feel like I’m staying informed and current!

Great way to get quick information on my 20 minute drive to work every day.

Such an incredible way to start your morning and stay informed on daily news! I’m not a huge fan of reading the news and this way I know what’s going on in 15 minutes or less while I’m getting ready for my day! 100% recommend!

I have listened to Up First for a few years. I turn it on most mornings as I get ready for work/school. It’s the perfect amount of news; I feel connected to the world without feeling overwhelmed. I’d recommend to anyone.

To start, the morning edition/up first hosts and guests are amazing at what they do. They are consistently on point, articulate on the issues, witty and comedic at times. As a podcast and NPR lover with a crowded commute, up first has become an instant classic. The fact bad need to know news in a...Read full review »

I start my day, everyday, with Up First. I am admittedly a news junkie, but Up First does a great job of giving snapshots of important news in a concise and unbiased way. It’s the longest standing podcast in my subscriptions and it will certainly stay that way!

This short 13 minutes is the start of the NPR Morning Edition and gives you the top news headlines in a professional but laid back manner. No spin, just news US from the fantastic crew at NPR east and west studios.

Now that I don’t commute via car in the morning, this is a great alternative to the hourly news briefings that npr has. Love it!

Perfect for morning make up routine. Ready for the day in all fronts.

Stick to the news and not your reporters’ bias. Too often stories start with “we talked to one person who said...” Find reporters who don’t say “like” or ask them to slow down and formulate thoughts. Check out WSJ for more factual insights.

I normally love your podcast but you send me an update about that stupid special report from the Syrian idiot that I have a raced three times and interrupt phone calls things I’m doing on my phone and it’s driving me nuts! The “special report” on vaping was journalism at its worst. Two people with zero clue what they’re talking about sensationalizing a topic... Fox News would be proud.

Hard to listen to the hosts as they are very whiny. The Economist is much better quality. Maybe I’ll give this another shot when a Dem is in office, but for now I can’t take the pitiful, and woe is me attitude and analysis

I’m loving how I’m not i’m not hearing counterpoint counterpoint at all. Why aren’t I hearing from adults who quit smoking because of vaping? the podcast turned into planet money again. i’d recommend not subscribing but just checking in for the days podcast or else your feed will be swamped with podcast episodes you never asked for.

I listen to Up First every morning, but months ago there was a mix up with a few NPR podcasts, and since then I get massive Planet Money episode dumps into my library, sometimes under the Planet Money name (that I do not subscribe to) and sometimes under Up First. Please fix!

I’m surprised that these presenters are allowed to present this podcast as neutral. NPR as a whole has been becoming more and more biased over the last three years, and this podcast is an excellent example of this. I wish they wouldn’t masquerade as unbiased reporting and instead present......Read full review »

Love that NPR stays committed to being informational over everything else. I feel so much more informed as a citizen of the US and of the globalized world. Keep the humor at the beginning. News is crazy. A moment of lightheartedness reminds us that we are all people. In an era of so much hate—we have to remember there are people behind ideas. The humor reminds us of this—even if it irritates some people. Hating has got our country where we are...Read full review »

I second the motion to stop Rachel and David’s boring fake cute interactions at the start of the show. Please. I really have come to like and rely on this podcast for daily news. I’d recommend “the Daily” for a longer take but it’s from NY Times so understand the view it’s coming from. Please stop opening the podcast with external exchanges between Rachel and David. They are neither cute nor funny. Moreover the practice of including them is not creative, but rather gimmicky. They detract from the achievements of an otherwise stellar podcast—public media at its best.

What happened to remaining impartial? Why can’t we just get the news without getting what YOU think?!

I listen to Up First every morning and contribute to my local NPR station. I find the podcast valuable and balanced in its coverage. I have a minor issue. I don’t understand the flirtatious behavior of Rachel Martin and David Greene. It seems out of place for a news podcast.

Okay I’m all for this podcast. It’s fairly balanced and thorough. However, at 6:30 in the morning when I’ve just woken up and am crawling towards coffee, I do NOT want to hear two remarkably unfunny NPR hosts try to joke around. It’s painful.
