The River Next Door was an exhibition held at Oriel y Bont, on the University of South Wales’ s Treforest campus, from March to May 2015. It brought together the works of two creative minds: the artist Valerie Coffin Price and the poet Philip Gross.

The talk explored relationships between three of the pieces of work in the 'Pop and Abstract' exhibition, on display from March to 1 September 2013. The featured artworks are Ernest Zobole's 'Chair and Dog in a Room', Ken Elias's 'Days Are Where We Live', and Denys Short's 'Hafan'.
